Today was certainly a somber day, being the 10th Anniversary of the day our Nation was forced to suffer from an act of hatred that cost so many their lives.
On a happier note, today was also the 49th Anniversary of the birth of one of the men I hold nearest and dearest to my heart…my Dad!
My Dad has been wanting to shoot skeet with all of us for awhile. Now, Beth and Julie were always Dad’s outdoorsy girls. I, on the other hand, am not one to enjoy the great outdoors. I shot twice, and missed both times. Kevin did fairly well! My sisters even managed to snag a few. Their boyfriends were impressed with their mad skeet skills!
I assume you all know what I mean when I say “skeet”, but for those that may not know…it is simply shooting clay discs that are hurled into the air. I have terrible aim. Haha.
It soon started to rain, so we went inside for dinner and our always favorite chatterbox sessions. When my sisters and I are together we will talk the ears off of anyone who will listen.
My Dad had a great time, and so did everyone else. It is always such a blessing to be able to spend time with family; especially on a day like today.
Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you more than you could ever know! 🙂
