Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Hi friends! I am so excited to be posting my first recipe (complete with photos) for all of you! We had some bananas lying around…you know, the ones on the verge of rotting? I’ve been searching for the perfect Banana Bread recipe for quite some time, and well…when the opportunity presents itself, you take advantage! 🙂

This recipe is a huge medley of lots of Banana Bread research. I tweaked a couple different recipes I found online, and of course started with a wonderful base (my Mom’s recipe). Don’t worry, it’s already come out of the oven (obviously) and it is delicious! I would like for it to have been a tad more on the moist end, but it still tastes amazing! Of course, you could always totally eliminate the chocolate chips if need be. Enjoy!

First things first, here’s what you’ll need:

All Purpose Flour: 2.5 cups
Sugar: 1 cup
Baking Powder: 3.5 teaspoons
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Milk: 3/4 cup
Egg: 1
Bananas: 2
Margarine: About 3 tablespoons
Vanilla: 1 teaspoon

*Chocolate Chips are optional 🙂

{ 1 } Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease the pan. (I used Crisco.)
{ 2 } Combine all of the dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix them together.
{ 3 } Add the rest of the ingredients and mix them by hand until smooth.
{ 4 } Pour about 1/3 of the mixture into the pan. Add a few chocolate chips if desired.
{ 5 } Pour the rest of the mixture into the pan.
{ 6 } Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

When the bread had been baking for about 8 minutes, I opened the oven and sprinkled a few more chocolate chips on top so they would bake into the bread.
