Our Favorite Baby Products and a Giveaway!

Heavens to Betsy. Jonah will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. Merely typing those words has already brought tears to my eyes. He truly is the single most important thing in our lives. He has only been in our lives for 7 weeks, but it feels like we have known him forever. I literally stare at him all day long. How could I not? def7e5bc658811e2bb3522000a1fb076_7 Now that we’ve been home with Jonah for almost two months, I’ve quickly come to realize which baby products we wouldn’t be able to do without. As a First Time Mom, it was really overwhelming to sort through thousands of products. Awaiting Jonah’s birth, I spent countless hours looking at other Mommy blogs in search of products they used and loved. It was really helpful and informative, and I knew without a doubt that I would return the favor. So, here we go!   1 Fisher Price My Little Lamb Infant Seat 41gO87T04HL._AA300_ We absolutely love this infant seat. Actually, Jonah is sleeping in it right beside me as I type these words. It looks exactly like the picture above, and is super soft. It’s elevated just enough so that baby can sit up, but still be comfortable if sleep is inevitable 🙂 Sleep will be inevitable, because the coolest thing about this infant seat is that it vibrates! Jonah is pretty much asleep within minutes when we use it. There are three different options you can use with this infant seat: Music Only, Vibration Only, or Music and Vibration. The cycles last a fair amount of time as well. When baby is awake, there is also a small mirror attached to the infant seat. You can see it in the picture above – it is where the little green lamb is hanging from. That way, when baby is awake, he or she is able to receive visual stimulation. I learned quickly that you can never have too many places to put down your baby 🙂   2 Fisher Price Snugabunny Rock n’ Play Sleeper 416xXu9SqCL._AA300_ I went back and forth with the idea of a Rock n’ Play. It has been a life-saver. This is what Jonah has been sleeping in at night. We have a gorgeous cradle that Kevin’s Dad built for Jonah, which he slept in for about 2 weeks after coming home from the hospital. Then, something happened, and he would NOT sleep in his cradle. One night, out of sheer desperation, I put him in the Rock n’ Play, moved it RIGHT beside the bed, and he slept like an angel. It is so wonderful because I can have it within an arm’s reach. I put it right beside the side of the bed I sleep on, and can reach one hand out and rock him to sleep if need-be. Most of the time he falls asleep on his own. I love that I can sleep facing him as well so I can check on him a million times throughout the night 🙂 This Rock n’ Play folds in half, and is great to take on the road with you. We took it with us everywhere on Christmas, because it was so nice to just pop open to have a place for Jonah to sleep or lay. It fit in our trunk with ease, and is really light. The cover for both this and the infant seat above are easy to remove and throw in the washing machine if you need to. We keep our Rock n’ Play upstairs, and when I shower every day I bring it into the bathroom with me so I can keep an eye and ear on Jonah. Plus, the steam can be helpful in relieving small amounts of congestion. I’m so glad we have this product, because we would have experienced a lot more sleepless nights than we did if we didn’t have it!   3 Graco Pack n’ Play 41e-Yjctv6L._AA300_ Graco offers so many different Pack n’ Play options. The photo above is the one that we have, and we love it! We have ours set up in the living room. It comes with a removable napper/changer, but we don’t use that feature. We currently have ours set up as a bassinet, and it’s another place that Jonah naps during the day. We haven’t packed it up to take it anywhere yet, but it’s nice to know that we have a portable crib, should we need it. It’s really sturdy, and easy to clean. We have quite a few Pack n’ Play sheets that are easy to pull off and wash when needed.   4 Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump 31lGomHkR4L._SL500_AA300_ After Jonah and I both got the hang of nursing, I began to pump. I have both this pump, and a double electric pump. Would you believe that I actually prefer this manual pump to the electric one? I feel like I have more control of the speed and intensity of the suction. I know that some of you are probably thinking I’m crazy, but it’s just what works for me. I love that I can take this with me anywhere without needing an outlet (like long rides in the car, haha) and it doesn’t require a lot of room in the diaper bag.   5 MAM Silicone Pacifiers 41xIugkSZrL._AA300_ I totally have an obsession with pacifiers. I think they are adorable, and I can’t stop buying them. I wish I were joking when I said that Jonah has over 30 of them. I have tried ever brand with him, and there are only two brands that he doesn’t spit out. One of which, is the MAM brand. Jonah prefers the shape of these pacifiers to other brands. He spits out Tommee Tippee, Nuk, Nuby, and Gumdrop pacifiers. Once in a blue moon he will keep in a Dr. Brown’s, but the MAM are definitely his favorite. They are super easy to clean, and I try and sterilize them about once a week.   6 Wubbanub 31L CopgAiL._SL500_AA300_ Jonah (and Mommy) love his Wubbanub! We got him the one you see above for Christmas. The Wubbanub is a pacifier attached to a stuffed animal. This rocks for many reasons. The best reason is that it’s a lot easier to find this pacifier when it falls. Also, when Jonah gets older, he will be able to really hold on to the stuffed animal and have more control over the pacifier. The only drawback about the Wubbanub, is that you cannot detach the pacifier from the stuffed animal. I sterilize this pacifier by holding it over a pot of boiling water while the pacifier is immersed in the water. If it gets really dirty, I’ll throw it in the washing machine, but there hasn’t been a need for that yet. There is actually a Wubbanub website. You can see all the different animal options. They are adorable. This is the only other pacifier that Jonah will take, so we’ll probably be investing in a few more as he grows.   7 Bottles (MAM, Tommee Tippee, and Avent) 41Wlz78vC8L._AA300_ We have been so lucky as far as feeding goes. Jonah is able to go from nursing to the bottle with ease…he has never refused a bottle, and he definitely doesn’t seem to prefer one over the other. We started out using Tommee Tippee bottles. Jonah loves them. They are easy to clean, and very durable. I like the way they are shaped because they’ll be easy for him to hold when the time comes. I got two sample Avent bottles when I was pregnant, and we’ve been using them a lot. Again, Jonah doesn’t seem to mind them at all. They’re nice because they are smaller and easy to pack. After discovering how much Jonah loves the MAM pacifiers, I decided to try some MAM bottles with him. I’d have to say that these are probably Mommy’s favorite, because of the design of both the nipple and the bottle itself. These bottles are colic-reducing, and I notice that he spits-up significantly less when we use these bottles. He also isn’t as gassy. The only minor issues I have with these bottles is that they are so thick, it takes forever to warm them up. The Tommee Tippee and Avent bottles warm quickly because the plastic isn’t as thick. More importantly, they are all BPA free. I’m fairly positive all bottles are BPA free now, but I just thought I’d throw that in there anyway. We have a pretty easy-going guy, though. No matter what we use, he will feed from it.   8 Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller and Carseat pTRU1-7527809reg We LOVE our stroller and carseat. After one of many trips to Babies R’ Us, we tried out every single stroller in the place…and kept coming back to this one. We love the durability of the wheels. They are actually air-filled wheels, not the chunky plastic wheels. This thing turns on a DIME, and it offers a decent amount of storage space on the bottom. There is also a place to connect your iPhone so music plays through speakers on top of the stroller. We don’t use that feature much yet, but it will be nice for walks! We love the carseat, too. My favorite thing about the carseat is the rubberized triangle handle. It makes it so much easier to carry. It’s easy to collapse and put into the trunk, though it is on the heavy side. I will definitely be earning my Mommy muscles, haha.   9 Babies R’ Us Burp Cloths pTRU1-9692458reg We have well over 30 burp cloths, but these are my favorite. I find myself constantly washing these ones (we have 6 of them) and not really using the others. I love that these are made of cotton, and not terry cloth. They are really durable, as well as adorable. We quickly learned that the tiny terry cloth burp cloths just wouldn’t cut it with Jonah.   10 Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse 41dIGeVACdL._AA300_ I totally saved the best for last. This thing is MAGIC. I swear to you. I bought one while I was pregnant, and then also received one at my Baby Shower. We have one upstairs and one downstairs. We also always take one with us wherever we go. Jonah LOVES this thing. It’s actually super adorable. I would put on my belly every night while I was pregnant and play the music for him. I’m convinced that’s why he loves it so much. This thing puts him to sleep almost instantly. I can’t rave about it enough. We have the blue one, but it comes in pink as well. I have been recommending it left and right, because it’s been that much of a life-saver! In fact, I love this little seahorse SO much…

  1. That seahorse is God's gift to Mama's. It soothed my son and he slept with it until he was almost 2. Ridic yes but im not going to fuss because he is such a good sleeper. Love it!!! And hopefully if we ever have a number 2 I can try out some of the products you mentioned here, they all seem to great!

    1. I have heard amazing things about the Snugabunny swing! We had one given to us that Jonah loves, but it isn't the Snugabunny. We'll have to invest in that one when # 2 hopefully comes along 🙂

  2. oops. a baby product we couldn't live without was our fisher price animal krackers jumeroo. Amazing! Rowan still wants to get in it sometimes and he's 14 months!

  3. I'm not a mommy to an earthy baby, yet. But I already knew some of the things we were going to get for our angel baby. Now I just pray that we will be blessed with an earthy baby soon as we can spoil he or she rotten with all the goodies you've talked about. BTW, my mother-in-law already got us that graco pack n play and I can't wait to use it one day! =)

    1. I have and will continue to keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers, sweetie. You are an AMAZING Mommy…your Angel Baby will be so proud to know you and your future children are SO lucky already. Lots of hugs, sweetie! And yay for having the same Pack n' Play 🙂 Seeeee…we ARE long lost sisters! <3

  4. So glad you dropped by, Breanna! It's great to find your blog! (And this post seriously couldn't have been more timely… I JUST went to register this past weekend and will likely be doing some supplementing based on your post! :)) Looking forward to following along.

  5. Thanks for the recommendations! With this new baby girl coming in a few months, I need to stock up on some things that I didn't have when Cooper was a baby! 🙂

    1. Congratulations on your new baby girl! How exciting! 🙂 I need to get some Soothies for Jonah. Those are what are attached to the Wubbanub, so I'm hoping he'll like them! 🙂

  6. The seahorse – I seen how much you love it. I know my niece doesn't have that but she has the pillow thing that lights up and loves it. I loved my glow bug when I was little.

  7. We've had our little girl for almost 3 weeks and we absolutely LOVE having the boppy pillow – I could not have survived several late night feedings with out it! LOVE your list, and that pink seahorse is ADORABLE!!

  8. Can I say diapers 😉 Haha, but seriously, from nannying and having younger siblings, burp cloths were always a necessity! For this baby, I plan to make a ton with chenille and flannel/cotton!

  9. So glad you fell into my inbox so I could in return find you. J is such a beautiful baby! I don't enter many giveaways, but being pregnant I couldn't resist- I hope I win!!! I am not 100% sure what I couldn't live without, but from nannying experiences I am going to say a Boppy!

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by my Blog! 🙂 I'm so glad you decided to enter! 🙂 I wish I used my Boppy more! J does like to sit in it from time to time, so it wasn't a total waste 🙂 Haha!

  10. We couldn't live without the MAM bottles! Kenley grew tired of pacifiers super quick, doesn't suck her thumb, and had a bout with acid reflux, so the MAM bottles were the ONLY ones that worked for her! They have some awesome ones that transition to sippy cups too 🙂

    1. I had no idea that MAM made bottles that transition into sippy cups! I am totally going to have to check that out! 🙂 I am really loving the MAM brand, too!

  11. Your first item is very similar to my "can't live without." Mine is by Carter though. I love that even while recovering from a C-section, I can still easily move it from room to room and he sleeps so well in it!
