30 Weeks with Baby # 2!

How far Along: 30 weeks 3 days today!

Size of Baby: I know that it varies, but according to one of my favorite websites, The Bump, our little jelly bean is the size of a cucumber…or about 15.2 – 16.7 inches long and anywhere from 2.5 – 3.5 pounds!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m down 5 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I’m hoping to keep steady at my current weight until delivery.

Maternity Clothes: Maxi Skirts are still my BFF. Seriously πŸ™‚ I’m so thankful that the seasons from Jonah’s pregnancy basically match up. I’ve been able to reuse everything!

Gender: It’s a BOY! See our reveal photo here! We are 100% set on a first name, but still not sure about a middle name. Help a girl out πŸ™‚

Belly Button In/Out: Flat as a pancake!

Stretch Marks: I’ve gotten a few new ones on my stomach, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I’m used to stretch marks. Kevin loves me, stretch marks and all πŸ™‚

Labor Signs: Thankfully, no…and we hope it stays that way for at least another 8 or 9 weeks!

Movement: It is so amazing to be able to tell where baby boy is based on his movements. I can almost always feel his little bum sticking out. Right now it feels like he is laying horizontally across my stomach, with his feet at my left side and his head on the right. It’s especially fun to feel him move his whole body – both sides of my stomach shake! Amazing!

Sleep: Sleep is pretty interesting these days. I wake every hour or two to go to the bathroom, and I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs due to the hip pressure. I love every second of it though…and I know I’m going to miss it when baby boy is here.

Cravings/Aversions: Ice cream. I want ALL the ice cream ALL the time, which is a problem due to my Gestational Diabetes. I have a spoonful here and a spoonful there, but I can’t wait to have a milkshake!

Symptoms: I’m officially waddling πŸ™‚ I have heartburn like crazy (I did with Jonah as well and he had a head full of dark hair.) I have days where I experience some pretty intense cramping…but I’m told that it’s normal.

Feeling: I feel great aside from the cramping and the constant pressure.

Best Moment this Week: Every moment is amazing, so it’s hard to pinpoint just one! I suppose hitting 30 weeks…the final countdown is on!

What I Miss: Nothing. I am soaking up every single minute of this pregnancy! πŸ™‚

What I’m Looking Forward To: I don’t want to wish time away, but I really cannot wait to see this little boy!

Milestones: We’re officially in the 3rd Trimester and less than 10 weeks away from meeting baby!

Baby Milestones: Baby boy’s skin is getting smoother and he is now strong enough to grasp a finger!

Next Appointment: Tuesday, September 2nd. I will be 32 weeks 2 days. I start twice weekly NSTs this week which will continue until I deliver due to my Gestational Diabetes.

  1. You are just too beautiful! You are glowing my dear πŸ™‚ Congratulations on hitting this milestone! I feel like the end is in sight – but you're right, you should enjoy every minute of it while you can! xoxo

  2. super cute photos! How exciting you look lovely and hope everything is joyful and beautiful for you and your family!!

  3. Awww.. what a beautiful narrative and description of your progress. Sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes (a lot of my friends have had it), but am glad that everything else seems to be going well! Good luck in the coming months!!!

  4. You look adorable! I've been pregnant in the fall/winter with all three of my kids, and I've always been jealous of those who get to wear maxi dresses and maxi skirts throughout their pregnancies. So much easier than jeans!

  5. What a cute pregnant girl you are! I bet you're little guy is going to have a little friend to catch bugs, wrestle, and play in the mud with!

  6. Woo hoo!! 30 weeks! We actually were the opposite with naming our boys. We always had the middle name picked out ahead of time, but the first name was always a challenge.lol. But ya can't go wrong with a good family name for a middle name? Maybe look at your family tree for some ideas?

  7. that's so fantastic! i have a few friends who are pregnant right now, and one who has a little girl (their first) who is just a few weeks old! babies are so much fun πŸ™‚

  8. I've had a girl crush on you and your blog for SO LONG! Your two little cuties are simply adorable, and I look up to what a great Mom you are! πŸ™‚ We actually MAY be leaning toward a family name now, I just need hubby to commit! Great idea, hun! And thanks so much for stopping by!

  9. Congratulations! I know too well the feeling of the impending appearance of a little one. Having the second one is difficult when you have a toddler, but it's so much fun as they grow together. Good luck with the birth.

  10. Congrats! I have a 3 month old and I kind of miss being pregnant! Only 10 more weeks for your little bundle!

  11. Haha! I wish I were teeny, Amber! πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for your sweet words! With my first pregnancy I didn't really get noticeably bigger until the last 3 or 4 weeks! This pregnancy is almost identical so I am expecting the same thing to happen πŸ™‚
