A Very Jamberry Review + Giveaway!

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I’m sorry I have been so absent from the Blog-o-sphere lately, but between teaching, finishing up my last class for my master’s degree, photography, and you know…my most important jobs of being a wife and mommy – blogging was sort of pushed to the back burner for a bit. Phew! However, I am back today with a really fun post – and a giveaway, too! I hope you’ll keep reading 🙂

About a month ago, one of my very best mommy friends Meg contacted me about sponsoring her new Jamberry shop on my blog. I absolutely said yes, and I promise it had nothing to do with the free Jams, and everything to do with how much I big puffy heart this girl. Our online friendship goes way back…and we’ve gone through a lot together. I honestly couldn’t put into words how sweet Meg is if I tried, so I’ll just let you see for yourself 🙂

Did I fail to mention she is gorgeous? I thought so. Well…she’s gorgeous 🙂 Isn’t she?
Anyway, I asked Meg to talk a little bit about herself and her experience with Jamberry. Here is what she had to say:

“Hi, my name is Megan.  You can also call me Meg!  I am a stay-at-home-mom of twins who will be two in June, dog lover – especially of my own, occasional crafter,  novice runner, and Jam addict!  My favorite mani that I have actually worn so far is Sahara Nights!  I also really love It’s complicated and Ditsy Floral.  I foresee those on my nails soon!  You can find a little more about me here.

The first time I heard about Jamberry was a long time ago.  I had a friend who was a consultant way back when the company was new.  I would see her posts about this weird nail stuff all the time in my Facebook news feed.  It was interesting but seemed so strange to me.  Time went on and those posts seemed to just stop.  Then all of the sudden, last summer I started hearing about Jamberry again, but not from her.  I had seen some posts from other friends on Facebook but didn’t think too much of it until I saw a post from a friend in one of my Facebook “mommy groups”.  Her post was offering free samples and I finally was interested enough to try it out.  I sent her a message and she thought she had sent me an invitation to her online party, but apparently Facebook ate the invitation.  You may know how Facebook frequently eats posts.  I joined her party and was sent a sample.  I instantly fell in love and placed my first order.  Jamberry won me over with the ease of application and the ZERO dry time.  This was the answer to my wants and needs!  I’ve always loved pretty nails and used to create my own nail designs with polish, but that was back when I had extra time.  With two babies, I had no time for that anymore!

My friend that was having the party had just joined and it was her Launch Party that I was “attending”.  We played games and I ended up winning the grand prize.  It was so much fun.  She approached me about joining.  I was really hesitant and unsure.  I had tried direct sales before and it was not for me.  I decided that I wasn’t going to join, at least not right then but after a little more time and thought I changed my mind.  With not working and being home all day, I wanted to be able to contribute financially.  Or, at the very least, have something else to do.  I had some birthday money left over and knew that my kit cost was only $99.  I figured that if I could at least make back the money I spent, it wasn’t a loss.  And oh did I!  I made back my kit cost plus the shipping cost within my first couple of weeks.  I also hit all three Fast Starts within my first two months.  Fast Starts are the three goals that Jamberry sets for all new consultants.  You have a certain amount of time to achieve them.  The first is your sign up month plus the first full month after that (I hit all three within this time).  The second is your second full month.  And, the third is your third full month.  So for me, I joined at the beginning of October.  I had October and November to hit the first, until the end of December to hit the second, and the end of January to hit the third.  I did all three before November was over!  I was so proud of my accomplishments!  I really feel that I have done so well because I truly believe in this product and this company.  (If you’re interested in hosting or joining, I can answer any questions or you can check out our awesomely updated Host and Join pages here and here.”

Above you see one of Meg’s favorite Jamicures 🙂
Meg so graciously offered to send me some Jams so I could try them out and tell you all what I thought of them. I picked out Sugar & Space and Rose Gold Sparkle:
I decided to use Rose Gold Sparkle as the dominant wrap and accent with the Sugar & Spice, and I love how it turned out! My nails were a little short here, but it didn’t affect application whatsoever!
If you’ve never applied Jamberry Nail Wraps, it can be a little intimidating at first – but once you get the hang of it, it’s a piece of cake!
First, you make sure your nails are nice and clean. Then, you use the heat from your hair dryer to activate the adhesive. You literally peel, stick on your nail, and then use the manicure tools to smooth them down to your nail. You use a nail file to trim the extra, and voila! A top coat is not needed, and there is ZERO drying time! They truly are amazing! Unfortunately, I totally forgot to snap a picture before taking the wraps off – but they held up SO well. I ended up only leaving them on for about 10 days because one of my nails got caught in Jonah’s coat zipper and it pulled a chunk of the wrap off. It looked a little silly, so I ended up just taking them off. BUT – they still had a lot of life left in them!
I found that it was much easier to apply the wraps by first seeing which one would fit nicely over your nail (Meg so wisely told me this little tip: “When in doubt, size down” and it worked like a charm), and then cutting the wrap in half for an easier application.
Another tip that really helped me was the plastic baggie trick. Here is the video I watched that really helped give the edge of my nail a clean, polished look:

Are you still with me? I sure hope so, because Meg has so graciously offered to give one of my lucky readers a full sheet of Jamberry Nail Wraps and an Application Kit! The Giveaway is open until Friday, May 1st with the winner being announced Saturday, May 2nd. What are you waiting for? Enter below, and thanks for reading! Thank you again, Meg, for helping me to fall in love with Jamberry and spreading that love to my readers. You rock, my friend 🙂
